What do we do to make a more enviromental friendly machines?

Creating environmentally friendly machines is essential to ensure a sustainable future for ourselves and the planet. At ELITE, we are focused on a constantly innovation to produce machines that reduce their impact in the environment. One of the aspects to get it, it is to reduce the waste we generate and the energy we consume.

One of the aspects to get it, it is to reduce the waste we generate and the energy we consume.

We do believe that the first step to reduce this waste is to not create it.

How do we implement that in our process of creating machines?

Using less power

We build machines that use less energy by using a VFD (Variable requency Drive) to run our motors. The VFD's adjust the power needed to run the motor to the demanded power of the application. For example, a grinding wheel doesn't need the same power to run free or under 20% load or during heavy grinding.

Adjusting the power need can save from 20% to 70% of total energy needed to power the motor!

The VFD, for example, is standard for all the circular saw blade machines such as the MVB 850, SVG 850, AVB 850 and the GBT 850 line.

Reusing and filtering

Another important way to reduce the waste in our machines is to re-use the coolant as much as possible. Maintaining the coolant clean not only reduces the coolant degradation, but also implies less grinding wheel wear (thus increasing grinding wheel lifetime) and less wear of the bearings and machine guides (meaning less repairs will be needed).

With the aim of becoming more ecofriendly and contribute with the environment, we redesigned all the FILTRAmaq filter machines line.

One of the key aspects is that, now, the FILTRAmaq doesn't waste power to receive the dirty coolant from the grinding machine: the dirty coolant flows by gravity from the grinding machine to the filter. That way, we save one pump, meaning in less power consumption used.

While the FILTRAmaq PRO is a filter hub where you can connect several machines, the FILTRAmaq SOLO is for only one machine, and the FILTRAmaq UNO is integrated inside our machines, saving space. Nevertheless, all the filters use the same filtering media and concept.

Reducing transport

Transportation of goods over long distances requires the use of fossil fuels, which contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Therefore, we try to purchase the materials and parts of our machines as close as where we are located as possible. For example, the steel parts come from 20 Km away, while the electrics and most of the electronics come from Europe.

We believe that, although it might be more expensive for us, buying goods produced close to where we manipulate them have a significant positive impact on the environment, the local economy and human health, promoting sustainability and supporting local communities.
